Hoe maak ik een floorplan?

In deze blog kort hoe je een floorplan moet maken.

DESIGN YOUR FLOOR PLAN

First things first: you need to create a floor plan. To make this easy, we developed an in-browser designer tool, allowing you to just point and click, drag and drop the elements on your floor plan.
your floorplan is not aware of your event or events yet. We need to arrange that.  The whole idea is that you create a floorplan completely independent from your events, so later on you can reuse this floorplan over and over again.

CATEGORIES

Since they are directly linked to the physical location of the seats on the chart, seat categories are defined when drawing the chart. You can add, remove and edit categories directly from within the i-ticketz chart drawer: go to category mode in the chart drawer, drag to select some seats and you’ll get this handy popup:

The categories represent a ticket type or a set of ticket types. It is possible to add more ticket types to a category. The visitor has to select the seat(s), category and the ticket type . An example is, you have students with a student-pass and you allow them to have a 25% discount for this event. Student can buy this type of ticket and at the entrance they need to have the ticket and their student-pass. So once you have created the categories. you can start adding your event(s) to this floorplan.

ADDING EVENTS TO THE FLOORPLAN

Once the floorplan and the event is created we can begin to merge them. To do this you can either go to your event and merge from there, or go to the floorplan and assign the event to it. Once assigned you can start merging your ticket types to the regions.  Your event wil be changed to a seatplanned event which wil affect the event in the ticketshop also.

TEMPORARILY RESERVE SEATS

A common requirement is to temporarily block seats, while the ticket buyer finishes the order flow (payment, etc.).
I-Ticketz supports this out of the box: You can configure your floor plan in such a way that when a user clicks on a seat, his browser will directly tell the i-ticketz server to temporarily reserve the seat.

This also means that the seat immediately becomes unavailable for other users. To those other users, it will seem as if the seat has been booked.
Once a seat has been reserved for 15 minutes, it will either get a status (booked or your own custom status), or it will be automatically released again. At that moment in time, it will be available again for other users to reserve and book.
